This interactive workshop will explore principals’ experiences in managing school closures in the last year. Recent qualitative research with principals and teachers as they worked through school closures and openings will be presented as part of the session. Particular attention will be paid to principal wellbeing and how this has been impacted. The workshop format will facilitate opportunities to share experiences with other principals as well as hearing how the research participants coped in schools. The session concludes with a view to the future and explores the potential and challenges of a post-lockdown school environment.
Please note that this is an interactive session – therefore numbers are limited.
Dr. Bernie Collins who will facilitate the session is a former lecturer in SPHE in DCU with a wealth of experience facilitating school staffs across a range of topics. She is also a trained mediator and conflict management coach.
